The story

Grandmother’s house by the water

Your grandmother has left you her old house in a village by the water. The rice terraces have run wild, the tea house is closed, and the ferry has not sailed in years.

You bring the village back, one calm day at a time. Old neighbours come home, new ones arrive, and with every season the village grows a little livelier.

“Haru” means spring in Japanese, the season of new beginnings. “Harbor” brings the water into the name.

A village that waits for you

Nothing bad happens here

  • Nothing spoils

Nothing dies, nothing spoils, and a pause is never punished. Ripe fields wait, the ferry waits at the horizon, and guests keep their seats in the tea house.

  • Twenty minutes are enough

Play a little every day or take a week off. Harvesting, crafting and decorating even work without a connection.

  • One festival at a time

Only one big festival runs at a time. Missed one? Its decorations come back later in the return shop.

Life in the village

What you do by the water

Around 200 goods come in short chains you understand without a manual: rice becomes flour and flour becomes mochi, tea leaves become matcha, soybeans become tofu and miso.

  • RiceGlutinous Rice FlourMochi
  • Tea LeavesMatcha
  • SoybeansTofu
  • Rice on the terraces

Water your terraces with a water wheel and canals. Watered fields grow faster; without water nothing breaks, it just takes longer.

  • Fishing and koi

Fish from the river jetty and the harbor pier, gather shells when the tide is out, and breed koi in your pond for new patterns.

  • The tea house

Welcome guests, build up the tea house’s reputation and unlock new decorations for its garden.

  • The ferry

Fill the crates of your ferry for big orders. Friends can help load it, and every crate can also be filled on your own.

  • The morning market

Sell at your stall, search for what you need and keep a wish list. When the market is quiet, Kawa the otter buys what is left.

  • Make it yours

Move, rotate and store everything in design mode, save layouts and fill your books of fish, koi and tea.

  • 21crops
  • 200goods
  • 24kinds of fish
  • 16koi patterns
  • 14villagers
  • 12festivals
